Job Title: Director of Nursing – Long Term Care

Location: Miles City, MT 59301

Contract: 13-Week Contract (Potential Extension or Contract-to-Hire)

Shift: Monday–Friday | Ideally 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Flexible)

Pay Package:

• Local : $90/hr on W2
• Travel : $3,750.36 Weekly Gross | Weekly Stipends: $1,238.36

Job Description :

The Director of Nursing (DON) provides leadership and operational oversight for a Long-Term Care and Skilled Nursing community. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staffing stability, budget management, employee development, and continuous quality improvement. The DON partners closely with executive leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve clinical, operational, and financial goals while fostering a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations of the Long-Term Care and Skilled Nursing departments.
• Stabilize staffing, support recruitment, retention, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and departmental performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, state, and federal regulations.
• Oversee clinical quality, patient safety initiatives, and process improvement programs.
• Conduct performance evaluations, competency assessments, and leadership development.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare leaders to improve resident outcomes and satisfaction.
• Serve as a mentor and role model for nursing staff and department leaders.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of nursing management experience (required).
• 2+ years of clinical nursing experience.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Strong leadership, staffing, operational, and financial management skills.
• Experience in Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, or healthcare operations preferred.
• Previous experience as a Director of Nursing, Nursing Executive Director, Nursing Home Administrator, or Community Manager preferred.
