Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner opening - Spring Valley, NY A Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Spring Valley, NY is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join its dynamic Behavioral Health team. This is a great opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing accessible, comprehensive care to underserved populations in Rockland and Sullivan Counties.As a Psychiatric NP, you ll manage a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders and collaborate closely with a team of psychiatrists and other medical professionals in a community-based setting with no billing or overhead responsibility Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and manage diagnosis and treatment plans Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications based on best clinical practices Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to coordinate care Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in the EMR Provide consultation and support to other departments as needed Ensure timely referrals and follow-up for continuity of care Requirements BSN, MSN preferred; completion of an approved psychiatric NP program Active RN license and NP certification in New York State Active NY DEA Registration Minimum 3 years RN experience + 1 year as psychiatric NP Knowledge of psychiatric nursing practices, medication management, and care coordination Excellent communication and teamwork skills Must be eligible to work in the U.S. Benefits Details $3,500 sign-on bonus (for full-time) Competitive salary with no billing/overhead responsibility NHSC and NYS Loan Repayment Program eligibility Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance Paid malpractice coverage (FTCA) 403(b) retirement plan and tax-advantaged accounts (FSA, HRA) Generous PTO and up to 13 paid holidays CME support and licensure reimbursement Community Details Located along the scenic Hudson River, just a short drive from NYC Access to excellent schools, universities, and vibrant community life Beautiful parks, hiking trails, and waterfront recreation Diverse and growing region with strong local industries
