Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT-4

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick up of packages; checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service; provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area; provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education High school diploma/GED. Minimum Experience Six (6) months courier experience preferred. Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Abilities: lift 50 lbs.; maneuver packages above 50 lbs. with equipment or assistance. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred. Demonstrated adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak English to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance. Job Conditions Neat appearance required due to customer contact. Must meet and maintain qualifications per federal motor carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam per FMCSA or FAA regulations. Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license per state requirements for assigned vehicle type and maintain a good driving record. Position is not safety-sensitive. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
