Backend/Infrastructure Engineer/Cloud Platform Engine e r is required by a AI startup building the future of multicloud AI infrastructure by providing a unified control plane for Kubernetes, 17+ clouds, and on-prem environments. They are the go-to interface for AI teams to run, manage, and scale their most ambitious workloads. Join a high-growth startup founded by UC Berkeley PhDs and Databricks cofounders. They have seen 600% adoption growth in 2025 and currently power production workloads for top AI-natives and Fortune 500s. They are hiring a Cloud Platforms Engineer to architect their commercial cloud platform from the ground up. You will own the control plane and data plane while working with a world-class team of distributed systems expert

Requirements

Bachelor's in CS, computer engineering, or software engineering from a top-30 school.
Experience at a VC-backed startup during a period of high growth.
6+ years of experience as a backend, infrastructure, or platform engineer with experience building SaaS/cloud platforms from scratch.
Proficiency with Go and Kubernetes in production and experience with gRPC, PostgreSQL, and Terraform.
Experience building a SaaS platform from 0 to 1 (looking for builders, not maintainers).
Experience building core platform services (auth, billing, API gateway).
Experience as a founding engineer is a nice to have

Architect company’s commercial cloud platform from the ground up: Control plane and data plane separation, tenant/user management, control plane scaling, monitoring, alert
Building core, production-grade platform services: Designing and implementing APIs and services in a cloud-native stack (e.g., Go, Kubernetes, microservices), balancing reliability, security, and simplic
