Work Environment

This full-time position requires on-site work within a dynamic hospital environment. Collaborating closely with licensed physical therapists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes. Your work schedule will typically be Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a predictable and manageable work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations.
• Administer hands-on therapy techniques, including therapeutic exercises and functional training, under supervision.
• Educate patients about rehabilitation exercises, activity modifications, and techniques to enhance their recovery outside of therapy sessions.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient progress and responses to therapy interventions, adjusting approaches as necessary to maximize recovery.
• Collaborate with the broader healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for each patient, participating in team meetings to discuss progress and strategies.
• Utilize specialized techniques such as trigger point therapy and manual therapy methods to address specific patient needs.
• Contribute to occupational health initiatives, promoting wellness and prevention strategies within the facility.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a wide range of patients, including children, adults, and seniors, each with unique rehabilitation needs. This position focuses on alleviating pain, enhancing mobility, and restoring functional independence for patients with various musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or an equivalent qualification.
• Currently active Physical Therapist Assistant state license.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a physical therapy assistant role is required.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and modalities commonly used in rehabilitation.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, providing compassionate and empathetic patient care that fosters trust and comfort.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to track patient care documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
