School Psychologist – 2026–2027 School Year

Location: Newport News Public Schools | Newport News, Virginia

Compensation: $40–$55/hour (based on experience)

About the Opportunity

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join Newport News Public Schools for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students' academic, social, and emotional success while collaborating with a team of educators and specialists.

Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations.
Interpret assessment results and prepare written reports.
Participate in eligibility and IEP meetings.
Provide consultation to teachers, parents, and school staff.
Support students with behavioral, emotional, and academic needs.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop appropriate interventions.
Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications
Master's, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
Active Virginia School Psychologist certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before the start date).
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Previous school-based experience preferred, but qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply.
