Customer Service Representative – Utilities

Location: Warwick, RI
Job Summary

We are seeking a customer-focused  Customer Service Representative to assist consumers with utility-related inquiries and provide exceptional service. This role involves responding to customer questions, resolving billing and service concerns, preparing payment agreements, and ensuring compliance with utility regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding utility services, billing, rates, and payment options via phone, email, and written correspondence.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to utility services, billing, and service interruptions.
• Prepare and negotiate consumer payment agreements.
• Provide accurate information regarding utility regulations, rates, and consumer rights.
• Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and case information.
• Analyze customer concerns and prepare reports and recommendations when needed.
• Coordinate with utility companies and internal departments to resolve customer issues.
• Conduct follow-up communications to ensure timely resolution of customer requests.
• Perform other customer service and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in customer service, call center, utilities, billing, or administrative support.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and customer service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computer-based systems.
• Experience handling customer complaints, payment arrangements, or utility services is a plus
