Location 211 Sudderth Dr, Ruidoso, NM 88345-6002 Type of Opportunity PRN – Full-Time Equivalent: 0.00 Summary Provides quality healthcare in collaboration with other health care providers in the emergency department (ED). Responsibilities Perform entire patient care continuum of urgent care and acute patients in the Emergency Department. Conduct initial assessments, order and interpret diagnostics, apply treatment algorithms (e.g., abscess treatment, laceration repair, fracture stabilization and splinting), and arrange appropriate disposition, including admissions, for patients ranging from newborn to geriatric. Utilize available physician resources appropriately. Demonstrate high confidence in treating patients and seek opportunities to grow skillsets for increased autonomy. Provide primary patient care, including review of lab/x-ray reports, medication refills, patient referrals, patient education, health maintenance, and symptom management for acute and chronic disease across all ages. Serve as educator for staff RNs, LPNs, and student FNPs/PA s as needed. Assume management/administrative/organizational duties, such as attending meetings and maintaining schedules. Participate in monthly committees to improve patient care. Assist in the screening/evaluation process for prospective employees, staffing and management. Help develop policies and procedures for clinical areas providing C.F.N.P./PA services, ensuring compliance with JCAHO, regulatory agencies, and PHS/EH. Engage in data collection and quality management activities. Attend Midlevel Education Committee trainings for ongoing skill maintenance and improvement. Use available data to drive ongoing professional practice improvement. Remain coachable and assimilate feedback from all levels of staff/providers. Actively participate in piloting improvement projects, organizational initiatives, team-building exercises, section meetings, and semi-annual provider reviews. Maintain patient medical records as required by hospital and regulatory agencies, increasing accuracy and capturing pertinent information. Assimilate feedback related to documentation and coding for appropriate billing capture. Participate in once-monthly call shift. Perform other functions as required. Qualifications For Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree in nursing, New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license, federal and state DEA license, and ANCC certification required. Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required; experience as an ER nurse preferred. For Physician Assistant: Baccalaureate degree, CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant (or two years of experience as a Certified PA), and license by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required. Minimum of one year experience; prior experience as an EMT or scribe in an ER preferred.
