This role oversees staffing, logistics, inventory, and service standards to ensure every event is executed flawlessly.Position OverviewThe Catering Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day catering operations and ensuring that all events are executed efficiently, professionally, and in alignment with Modern Caterings standards of excellence. This position works closely with the culinary, sales, and event teams to coordinate staffing, logistics, and event production.The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and has a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent OperationsOversee operational planning and execution for all catered events.Coordinate event logistics including staffing, equipment, rentals, transportation, and timelines.Ensure proper event setup, service execution, and breakdown procedures.Maintain high standards of food presentation, service, and guest experience.Team LeadershipRecruit, train, schedule, and manage service staff, event managers and event coordinators.Lead pre-event briefings and ensure staff are prepared for service expectations.Provide leadership and support during events to ensure smooth operations.Foster a positive and professional team culture.Attend on-site events as needed.Logistics & InventoryManage inventory of catering equipment, service ware, and event supplies.Coordinate rental orders and vendor partnerships.Ensure vehicles, equipment, and materials are properly prepared for each event.Financial & Operational OversightMonitor labor and operational costs for events.Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and operational efficiency improvements.Ensure events are executed within budget while maintaining quality standards.Client & Vendor CollaborationWork closely with the sales team, chefs, and event coordinators to ensure accurate event execution.Serve as a key operational contact for vendors, venues, and partners.Address operational issues quickly and professionally to maintain client satisfaction.Compliance & StandardsEnsure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company policies.Maintain organization, timelines, and communication across departments.Continuously improve operational systems and event processes.Qualifications35+ years of experience in catering, hospitality, or event operations management.Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.Ability to lift 40+ pounds and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.Preferred QualificationsExperience in high-volume catering or off-premise events.Experience coordinating with venues, rental companies, and event vendors.ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain).Why Join Modern CateringWork with a respected and growing catering company in ColoradoBe part of a team passionate about hospitality and exceptional foodOpportunities for leadership and professional growthCompetitive compensation and benefits
