Our client, a supply chain and distribution organization, is seeking a Storeroom Attendant for an onsite contract engagement in Kohler, Wisconsin, running approximately three months. The role manages an industrial storeroom supplying maintenance, repair, and operating materials to a production site. This position suits someone organized and dependable who understands that a well-run storeroom keeps an entire plant running. It offers steady, hands-on work with clear responsibilities and direct contact with the maintenance and production teams you support.

Key Responsibilities

You will receive incoming materials, verify quantities and part numbers against purchase orders and packing documentation, inspect for damage or discrepancy, and record receipts accurately in the inventory system before putting stock away in correct locations. You will issue parts and materials to maintenance and production personnel, confirming the correct item against the request, recording every issue transaction, and charging materials to the appropriate work order or cost center. You will maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counting, investigate and resolve discrepancies, monitor stock levels against minimum and maximum settings, and initiate replenishment requests so that critical spares remain available when equipment goes down. You will keep the storeroom clean, organized, and correctly labeled, manage obsolete and slow-moving stock, operate material handling equipment safely, and follow all site safety requirements including personal protective equipment and safe lifting practice. You will support the maintenance planning process by providing accurate parts availability information, staging materials ahead of planned work, and flagging long-lead items early enough to avoid delaying scheduled jobs. You will also work with suppliers and buyers on order status, expedite requests, and returns, keeping requesters informed about realistic delivery dates.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with prior storeroom, warehouse, inventory, or parts counter experience. You must have strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping habits, along with basic computer literacy sufficient for inventory system transactions, data entry, and spreadsheet work. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to fifty pounds, and working in an industrial environment. You must be able to work onsite in Kohler, Wisconsin for the assigned shift and maintain reliable attendance throughout the engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in an industrial or MRO storeroom is strongly preferred, particularly with familiarity with maintenance parts such as bearings, fasteners, electrical components, and hydraulic or pneumatic fittings. Forklift certification is valued, as is experience with ERP or CMMS platforms such as SAP, Maximo, or similar, exposure to integrated supply or vendor-managed inventory models, and any purchasing or expediting experience. Experience supporting a maintenance department directly is valued, particularly familiarity with reading parts manuals and identifying components from equipment drawings. Exposure to storeroom setup or reorganization projects, barcode or scanning-based inventory systems, and any purchasing or vendor management responsibility all strengthen an application.

Compensation and Benefits

This engagement pays an hourly rate in the range of $18.00 to $20.00, based on experience, across a contract of approximately three months with a defined end date. You will work within an established supply operation with clear procedures and a supportive team, building inventory and supply chain experience that transfers well across industrial sectors. Extension or conversion may be possible depending on performance and continued organizational need. This is a contract engagement placed through our recruiting team.
