Environmental Engineer

Environmental Engineer IIPGS Worldwide is seeking an Environmental Engineer II in Radford, Virginia for a 6-month contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position will support environmental compliance in a large chemical manufacturing environment, including regulatory reporting, permit maintenance, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, inspections, and environmental audits. The initial contract is 6 months with potential for up to 18 months depending on budget and performance.Required SkillsBachelor's degree in an environmental or STEM-related discipline, including Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, and/or Civil Engineering, with 2 years of related work experience or equivalent experienceFive years of experience in state environmental reporting, permit maintenance and compliance, and hazardous waste management and compliance monitoringExperience with universal waste and non-hazardous waste management and compliance monitoringExperience interacting with VDEQ personnel and regulationsAbility to work effectively on a multidisciplinary and diverse teamAbility to support a fast-paced, large chemical manufacturing environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and environmental industry-related reporting and monitoring softwarePreferred SkillsWastewater experiencePrevious experience working with the government as a clientPermit writing experienceGovernment compliance experienceWhat You'll DoEnsure compliance with federal and state environmental regulations, consent decrees, and permitsPrepare and submit routine waste, TSCA, and EPCRA reports, including Biennial Hazardous Waste Reports, Tier II Reports, and TRI Form RWork with operations departments on environmental compliance efforts and hazardous/non-hazardous waste managementPrepare and submit permit applications and modificationsInterface with regulatory agencies regarding applicable environmental regulations and requirementsParticipate in environmental audits and inspectionsCollect environmental samples and complete chains of custody and appropriate container identificationProvide environmental training as neededPerform and support compliance inspectionsComplete special assignments or tasks as directed by the supervisorJob ID: 7610Military veterans and transitioning military members are encouraged to apply to all PGS Worldwide positions.
