Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Surgical Unit

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care in a fast-paced Orthopedic Surgical Unit. This role requires experience in orthopedic care and the ability to manage pain effectively in post-surgical patients. The nurse will need to be able to float to other medical-surgical units as staffing needs arise.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage pain levels in orthopedic and neuro-spine patients.
• Administer medications and manage IV starts.
• Provide telemetry monitoring and care for post-surgical patients.
• Effectively communicate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain infection control standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an orthopedic setting.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.
