Orderly - Operating Room

Job Summary Operating Room – Orderly, First Shift – Full Time. Reports directly to the Director of Surgical Services and/or Clinical Manager. Responsible for maintaining the operating room environment and supplies, transporting surgical patients from their rooms to the operating room, and complying with the policies, principles, and activities established by the Code of Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Program. Responsibilities Complete transfers in a timely manner: notify OR charge nurse or designee if there is a delay. Transport patients with side rails up and utilize all procedures for transferring patients (e.g., Ticket to Ride). Anticipate the need for equipment and supplies, assist with ordering supplies, and notify responsible parties to place orders. Remove malfunctioning equipment from use, tag it, and assist with putting away supplies/stock and performing daily routine checks within the department. Check eye wash stations weekly; check supplies and restock as needed, ensuring the warmer is stocked with fluids and blankets within temperature ranges. Assist OR personnel with moving equipment from room to room and with room turnover. Record temperatures and humidity each day, and report any out‑of‑range readings. Damp dust rooms first thing every workday and clean room, tables, and beds between cases and at end of day or as needed. Assist with room set‑up as required. Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association. Relevant work experience and education (specified by the organization).
