Principal ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD) Software Developer

Northrop Grumman’s HR Service Center is seeking a skilled ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD) Software Developer to support the strategy and capabilities of our Corporate HR team. In this position, you will:

• Design, develop, and deploy ServiceNow HRSD solutions in support of enterprise HR initiatives (e.g., HR Case & Knowledge Management, Employee Center, Lifecycle Events, Employee Journeys, HR services, and record producers).
• Configure and maintain HRSD components including HR services, case templates, HR knowledge, HR workflows, lifecycle events, journeys, COEs, and security/role models.
• Modify, maintain, and modernize existing HRSD solutions to improve employee experience and HR operational efficiency.
• Demonstrate proficiency with workflow automation, UI policies, data policies, business rules, client scripts, and integrations within HRSD.
• Collaborate with HR product owners and stakeholders to understand HR/business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate HRSD with core HR systems (e.g., Workday, SAP) and other enterprise platforms.
• Use various communication channels and collaboration tools to interact with virtual HR customers, process owners, and development teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation of HRSD solutions, configurations, and changes.
• Mentor, train, and demonstrate HRSD capabilities to other professionals, as required.
• Perform emergency on-call duties, as needed, to support production HRSD services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 5+ years of related experience OR Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 3+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including significant experience with HR Service Delivery (HRSD) modules (e.g., Case & Knowledge, Employee Center, Lifecycle Events, Employee Journeys).
• Proficient in the development of technical solutions using JavaScript, and familiarity with Python or PowerShell for automation/integration.
• Understanding of SQL database connections, object structures, and queries.
• Ability to research and evaluate new ServiceNow and HRSD capabilities for solution creation and continuous improvement.
• Self-motivated, creative problem-solver who can adapt to new technologies and evolving customer and HR requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical HR stakeholders.
• Solid organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple assignments and manage changing priorities.
• Great attention to detail and strong conceptual, analytical, and planning skills.
• Strong collaboration and team dynamics in a virtual/remote environment.
• Ability to travel, on occasion, to support different locations.

Requirements

• Experience with Object-Oriented Programming concepts and patterns.
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer and/or ServiceNow Certified HRSD Implementation Specialist.
• Experience implementing or supporting HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and HR case management in ServiceNow or similar platforms.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft).
• Experience with SAFe Agile methodology and working within agile delivery teams.
