Material Handler

The Material Handler operates a stand-up reach forklift for most of the workday in a multi-level, climate-controlled warehouse. This role focuses on moving heavy train-related products, accurately picking orders, performing safety checks, and using an RF scan gun to track inventory. The position requires careful attention to safety, precision in material handling, and the ability to work independently while supporting shipping and packaging activities.

• Operate a stand-up reach forklift on an hourly basis, spending the majority of the workday on the equipment.
• Move and transport heavy train products throughout a three-story warehouse in a safe and efficient manner.
• Pick and stage customer orders accurately according to work instructions and shipping requirements.
• Perform regular safety checks on the forklift and other material handling equipment before and during use.
• Use an RF scan gun to track, scan, and record products, ensuring accurate inventory and order status.
• Handle materials using pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as needed.
• Support packaging activities and prepare orders for shipment, working with another team member when required.
• Follow all warehouse safety protocols, guidelines, and best practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain organized work areas and contribute to overall warehouse efficiency.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding order status, inventory issues, and equipment concerns.

• At least 2 years of stand-up reach forklift operating experience.
• 2+ years of consistent work history in a warehouse or material handling environment.
• Proficiency in operating stand-up forklifts safely in a multi-level warehouse.
• Experience using RF scanners to track and manage inventory and orders.
• Hands-on material handling experience, including moving and staging heavy products.
• Ability to perform safety checks on forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Capability to work independently for most of the day while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail when picking orders and recording product information.

• Experience using pallet jacks for material movement.
• Familiarity with overhead cranes in a warehouse or industrial environment.
• Comfort working in a climate-controlled warehouse setting.
• Ability to collaborate with team members during packaging and shipping activities.
• Reliability and strong work ethic demonstrated through consistent employment history.

This position is based in a climate-controlled, three-story warehouse that focuses on safety and cleanliness. The work is performed primarily on first shift, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. New and well-maintained equipment, including stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scan guns, and overhead cranes, supports daily operations. Employees spend most of the day working independently, with occasional collaboration during packaging and order preparation for shipment. The facility maintains a clean, organized, and safety-conscious atmosphere, with expectations for appropriate, practical attire suitable for warehouse and equipment operation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Creek, WI.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
