Bookkeeper

THE EMPLOYERA Buffalo NY based not-for-profit, public benefit corporation is currently looking for a full-time Bookkeeper to join their team (37.5 hours per week). This mission-based organization has a long history of supporting businesses, creating job opportunities and promoting economic growth in Western New York. They are known for their team-oriented culture and high employee retention. This is a fully on-site role with flexible scheduling of daily hours. THE JOBDay-to-day responsibilities include the following:Record transactions in the general ledger, verifying accuracy and proper account codingProcess cash disbursements and ensure timely distributionReview and research any general ledger discrepancies and assist with account reconciliationCreate and maintain electronic records of all cash disbursementsOrganize receipts, invoices, and other documentationPrepare and deliver bank depositsObtain and maintain W-9s for vendors, updating when neededPrepare month end pre-close trial balances and review for errorsCoordinate reconciliation of bank accounts with the Accounting ManagerEnter loan disbursements and payments in loan management software and generate monthly borrower statementsQUALIFICATIONSAssociate or bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred, but not required1-3 years' experience in bookkeeping/accounting requiredExperience entering transactions into accounting software; experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or DownHome Solutions software experience is a plusSound analytical skills to identify discrepancies or errorsAbility to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the organizationProfessional attitude and integrityCOMPENSATIONCurrently, the good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position is $28-32 per hour.
