Staff Accountant

Responsible for reconciling accounts, Elan card oversight, and other accounting duties. Responsible for daily reconciliation of Federal Reserve account, and the weekly and monthly proofs of other correspondent bank accounts. Responsible for Check Reconciliation System daily reconciliations. Sets up fixed assets. Responsible for weekly and monthly reconciliations and monthly block postings of prepaids and accruals. Supports our internal customers regarding foreign wire and currency. Post daily general ledger entries. Responsible for balancing interoffice and following up on outdated tickets. Assists employees, vendors, clients, or external customers by answering questions related to accounts and services. Responsible for posting descriptions to income and expense postings made at the teller line. Shares responsibility with the Financial Reporting Accountant to produce several monthly reports and reconciliations. Oversees the Bank’s Corporate Card program by reviewing all transactions from employees and ensuring their accuracy, securing proper documentation, and overseeing the posting of all such items. Can support the Financial Reporting Accountant with maintaining and creating reports for the department as needed. Responsible for maintaining the FTE report. Complies with all banking related laws and regulations communicated to the employee through training and/or written correspondence and those requirements reflected in the Bank's policies and procedures applicable to the employee's duties and/or areas of responsibility. Protects all customer information and institution assets and complies with privacy and acceptable use policies. Performs other duties as assigned by Manager Qualifications Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Qualifications Two or more years progressively responsible accounting experience. Proven knowledge of accounting principles and experience with bank reporting and regulations. Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks. Proven communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with multiple computer applications, specifically word processing, spreadsheet and database management software as well as coding data-based reports. Ability to perform detail oriented work with a high degree of accuracy. Proven ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner.
