Position Overview

This role is situated at our organization’s Behavioral Health Department within the Army Medical Center located at Fort Bragg, NC.

Our facility, named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient PFC Bryant H. Womack, is a fully accredited 110-bed regional medical center and Graduate Medical Education (GME) facility. We serve Fort Liberty, the largest U.S. Army installation globally, known for its Airborne and Special Operations. Additionally, we operate several excellent Primary Care sites in Fort Liberty, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.

Located in Fayetteville, Fort Liberty is conveniently positioned just 2 hours from the coast and 5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains, with easy access to I-95 for travel north and south. This central North Carolina area enjoys pleasant weather throughout the year. As a Supervisory Physician Psychiatrist, your duties will include:

• Defining the overall scope of professional services and administrative policies while providing medical and administrative guidance.
• Acting as a subject matter expert on Army and Military Treatment Facility (MTF) behavioral health policies to effectively meet mission objectives.
• Offering consultation, advisory, and liaison services, with the ability to adapt to various population needs as required.
• Engaging in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, utilization reviews, risk management, and peer review processes.
• Performing first-level supervisory tasks, including planning work for subordinates, setting short-term priorities, and preparing work schedules.
• Overseeing all operations of the Behavioral Health clinic and services, ensuring patient-centered care and access to quality treatment.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients, reviewing laboratory and clinical findings, and prescribing appropriate treatments or referring patients to specialty clinics as necessary.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Board Certified in Psychiatry.
• Medical malpractice liability insurance is not necessary for federal civilian healthcare providers, as they are protected under the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while performing their job duties.
• Candidates must possess a permanent, full, and unrestricted medical license to practice in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
