About the Process We’re seeking an experienced Lead Animator with robust body mechanics, fight movement choreography techniques, and storytelling talents, capable of working across diverse styles. You will portray believable bodily motion, martial arts motion, and performance of 3‑D characters. This role will work with the Art Director, Animators, Designers, and Engineers to bring rich storytelling and action gameplay to life inside Unreal Engine. Responsibilities Expand character identity and expression through posing, timing, and appearance. Create animation loops and sets from the story, script, or narrative design. Collaborate with tech art, engineers, and designers in generating creative animation solutions. Help establish the animation pipeline. Record and create individual animation bibles for the dev team to reference. Qualifications Approximately You… Leadership experience managing a team of animators. Receptive to critique and comments. Strong communication skills. Self‑starter, able to find solutions and ask questions. Attention to detail and passion for first‑rate action video games. Capabilities & enjoy: Robust expertise in custom character rigs. Strong knowledge of stylized keyframe animation combined with mocap recordings. Experience in Senior+ Animator roles in other shipped games. Robust game design and communication competencies. Experience with Unreal Engine. Would like to see: Experience animating movement RPG, melee fight structures. Experience with iClone, Cascadeur, Rokoko, MotionBuilder. Broad experience across multiple video games of various genres. Effective collaboration with both off‑site and on‑site teams. Enjoy learning new technologies such as AI mocap, real‑time facial performance, etc. Compensation We are a market‑competitive company. The general market range for roles at this level in the area is $50,000 - $250,000, based on overall compensation (not base pay only), and aligned with our compensation philosophy.
