This role is ideal for an engineer with strong civil design and construction experience who is passionate about solving complex site development challenges and influencing project execution from early development through construction.As DEPCOM continues to expand its self-perform construction capabilities, this position will play a key role in strengthening our internal civil engineering expertise, improving constructability, and driving innovative site development solutions across utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. What You Will DoDevelop large-scale project civil and site preparation designsMonitor construction phase activities, including contractor adherence to civil design plans, managing field adjustments, response for contractor RFI and CORs, and conducting onsite quality assurance for grading and site preparationUse critical thinking and engineering knowledge to comply with EPC Contract requirements while driving economic solutions that mutually benefit both DEPCOM and the customerCoordinate with other Engineering disciplines (Project, Structural, Electrical)Utilize third-party preferred partners to complete grading and erosion control plans, construction specifications, SWPPP, hydrology reports, etc.Complete project due diligence via site visits to evaluate grading and site preparation strategy, existing drainage conditions and general site conditionsReport tasks and civil deliverables status to key internal customers including Project Engineering, Project Management, and ConstructionReview grading and drainage plans, drainage studies, ALTA/topo and other survey documents, and geotechnical reports to make recommendations for project site preparation design and identify schedule and cost constraintsOrganize and lead meetings related to Civil Engineering and site preparation with multiple internal and external project stakeholders.Address site challenges such as soil stabilization, foundation design, and erosion control on large-scale developmentsBalance cost, schedule, and quality considerations through value engineering and innovative approaches to civil design and constructionImplement lessons learned and contribute to the development of standardized workflows and process improvements across civil engineering operationsWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering disciplineExperience supporting land development and site preparation for large-scale construction projectsExperience reviewing and applying civil engineering design principles in constructionnvironmentsExperience with stormwater management, drainage design, and erosion control practicesWilling and able to travel up to 25% for project site visits and field support activitiesWhat Will Put You AheadExperience supporting civil permitting and regulatory approval processesExperience working with geotechnical investigations, reports, and site recommendationsExperience performing or reviewing hydrology and drainage analysesExperience supporting utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS projectsExperience supporting land development projects exceeding 50 acresFor this role, we anticipate paying $110,000 - $140,000 per year.
