Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• Valid Alabama Professional Certificate
• Compliance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state standards
• Demonstrated experience in special education instruction highly preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and administrators
• Adaptability for working across a range of student needs and environments

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEPs in self-contained and resource classroom settings
• Develop and implement lesson plans that foster growth and accommodate diverse learning styles
• Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to set and achieve student goals
• Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Maintain communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
• Stay current with best practices in special education
