Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• Current, valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate
• Fulfills all Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements
• Experience in special education or related field preferred
• Strong collaborative and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and innovate in classroom settings
• Passion for advocating for and supporting students with a variety of learning differences

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with all relevant guidelines
• Provide direct instruction and support to students, accommodating their learning styles and needs
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure student success and inclusion
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation on student progress, goals, and compliance requirements
• Foster a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment that encourages growth and self-advocacy
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school-based team meetings
