Cook/ Chef Position for School Food Service

Cook needed for school food service in the Mainland, NJ area. Monday through Friday, day shift, 6 am to 12 pm. No weekends or holidays, summers off! We follow a 10-month school calendar. Looking for a rewarding career with family - friendly schedule. Join our school nutrition team as a Cook in a High School Setting and help provide healthy, delicious meals to our students every day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, working with children, and being part of a supportive school community. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch for high school students. Serve meals in a friendly and efficient manner. Complete daily production records accurately. Count and monitor food and supply inventory. Operate a Point of Sale (POS) system or learn to use one. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. Wash dishes and assist with daily kitchen cleaning. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Work collaboratively with the school nutrition team to ensure excellent meal service. Qualifications: Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, cafeteria, school, healthcare or other commercial kitchen preferred. Experience with inventory and recordkeeping is a plus. POS system experience preferred, or the ability to learn. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
