Process Engineer

An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Water & Wastewater Process Engineering Team Leader to build and lead a team supporting complex municipal treatment plant projects. This role combines technical design, project management, team development, and client engagement, with opportunities to work on conventional and advanced treatment technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of water and wastewater treatment processes, pump stations, lift stations, and related systems.
• Oversee process evaluations, equipment selection, hydraulic analyses, and conceptual and detailed designs.
• Manage preparation of construction plans, specifications, and 3D models.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and fee estimates.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, regulatory agencies, and client stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and support business development and client relationship management.
• Ensure technical quality and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.
• 10+ years of municipal water/wastewater process design experience.
• At least 2 years of design project leadership experience.
• Experience with process modeling software such as GPS-X, SUMO, or BioWin.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Candidates with 15+ years of experience, multistate PE licenses, municipal client relationships, and experience with major treatment plant designs are especially encouraged to apply.
