The Associate Lead Analyst 1 will analyze the credit aspects of structured finance transactions, including analysis of the underlying assets, transaction structure, legal documents, and deal‑level financial modeling to formulate and substantiate independent credit opinions to assign ratings. Responsibilities include monitoring financial industry conditions and trends, presenting transactions and analysis to rating committees, identifying and writing accurate and relevant credit research, contributing to special research projects, developing in‑depth knowledge of the asset class, pursuing thought leadership initiatives to enhance analytics and research impact, gaining exposure to ESG credit analytics, assisting with process enhancement initiatives, developing working knowledge of Moody’s methodologies, communicating credit knowledge and rationale, maintaining understanding of financial industry trends, monitoring existing transactions, tracking performance and emerging risks, and conducting periodic reviews and updates of ratings based on new data, market developments, and transaction performance. Qualifications Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Analytics, or a related quantitative field plus two years of experience as an analyst or in a related position performing quantitative analysis. Experience conducting quantitative financial modeling and statistical analysis; analyzing credit impact of macro‑economic events; presenting credit analyses. Experience analyzing deal documents and authoring credit opinions, issuer analyses, or internal research memos. Knowledge of capital markets and structures; reviewing legal documents, including indentures or loan documents. Compensation & Benefits US‑based roles: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $118,248 to $173,100/yr, and the role is eligible for incentive compensation.
