Supply Chain Buyer: This 0.5 FTE/Part-Time position is scheduled to work less than an8HR dayshiftand is UFCWrepresented. Compensation: Non-exempt, $21.45/HR—$34.01/HR.Placement within this range is based on years of applicable experience. Job Summary: The Supply Chain Buyer is responsible for the timely and accurate purchasing of supplies, equipment, and services from vendors; provides an elevated level of service to internal customers, maintains facility relations, validates contract data, inventory management, manages order discrepancies and other duties as assigned; always represents the department and organization with professionalism. Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Coordinates activities and planning related to capital purchases, surgical and projects, which include the acquisition of capital equipment, contract/purchase negotiations, and tracking/reporting of all expenditures related to each purchase and project. Verifies purchase requisitions; verifies appropriateness of information; assesses potential vendor sources; selects vendors and places purchase orders. Assist in developing bid requests, gathering bid responses for vendors and selecting new vendor sources. May assist in the negotiation of major material and equipment purchases, including negotiating terms/conditions and strategic pricing. Works with active and approved contracts, GPO, vendors and internal stakeholders to drive down the cost of the product and procedures. Initiates, processes and documents the return of goods for credit/replacement and the return of equipment for repairs. Research price, quality, and availability of materials. May assist in interviewing vendors for sources of supply, prices, product information, new products, standards and service record. Assists with determining and assuring adequate levels of inventory and reorder points for supplies and other items used on a regular basis throughout the organization. Establishes reorder points. Participates in year-end inventories by input and reconciling of recorded versus physical differences. Assists other Supply Chain team members as needed with replenishing floors, processing inbound and outbound freight and cycle counts. Maintains an automated purchase order generation system and conducts packing list/purchase order reconciliation. Periodically studies information and document flow through the Purchasing department. Suggests improvements that expedite decisions and purchasing activity. Additional related duties and projects as assigned. Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or higher, preferred. 2 years of experience in a buyer/procurement role, required. Healthcare experience, preferred. Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Valid Washington State Driver’s license.
