If you want sophisticated client work and a life outside the office, this role was designed for you.What you'll doReview complex federal and multi-state tax returns across corporate, partnership, and individual entity types, ensuring technical accuracy and regulatory complianceLead strategic tax planning and research engagements for business owners and high-net-worth individuals, delivering proactive advice before issues ariseServe as a primary client relationship contact, collaborating with firm leadership to deepen and expand client relationshipsManage and resolve IRS and state tax notices, audits, and examinations from start to finishSupervise, coach, and advocate for tax staff and senior associates, providing meaningful feedback that accelerates their careersContribute to firm-wide initiatives including process improvement and technology adoptionWhat you need7+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on taxActive CPA license (EA designation with equivalent depth of experience also considered)Strong technical command of corporate, partnership, and individual taxation including multi-state issuesDemonstrated ability to manage client relationships and lead project teams simultaneouslyClear, confident written and verbal communication skillsNice to haveExperience mentoring staff in a formal or informal capacityFamiliarity with AI-enabled tax tools or a track record of adopting new technologyPrior exposure to partner-level business development activitiesExperience with IRS Appeals or complex state controversy mattersPay & benefitsBase salary: $120k - $170k depending on experienceSigning bonus: Up to $15,000 (paid after one year)Performance bonuses: Discretionary, paid on resultsHealth & dental insurance: 100% employer-paid premiums for employees and dependents401(k): Immediate entry with firm matchSummer Fridays: Early close every Friday from Memorial Day through Labor DayContinuing education: Fully funded, including CPA CPE requirementsCareer coaching: Every team member is paired with an assigned career coach and a transparent pathway to partnershipCulture perks: On-site yoga, meditation, catered breakfasts, Taco Tuesdays, happy hours, massage days, and team outingsLocation & scheduleNewark, DE - Hybrid.Full-time, year-round position with manageable seasonal workloads and no mandatory weekend culture.About & how to applyThis firm has spent decades proving that Top 400 client complexity and a people-first culture are not mutually exclusive.
