Experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Needed

Optimum Therapy and Consults is seeking a qualified and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our established outpatient mental health practice as an independent contractor.

The ideal applicant must be clinically confident, dependable, organized, and capable of working independently within a busy psychiatric practice. This position is best suited for a provider who already has strong experience conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing complex medication regimens, providing follow-up care, and completing accurate documentation promptly.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up appointments.
• Diagnose and treat a broad range of psychiatric conditions.
• Provide evidence-based medication management and supportive psychotherapy.
• Develop individualized treatment plans.
• Complete clinical documentation accurately and on time.
• Prescribe responsibly and comply with controlled-substance regulations.
• Communicate professionally with patients, pharmacies, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain excellent clinical judgment, reliability, and continuity of care.

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN and APRN license.
• Current PMHNP board certification.
• Active DEA registration and Maryland CDS registration.
• Current malpractice insurance.
• Established experience treating adult psychiatric patients.
• Strong medication-management and diagnostic skills.
• Familiarity with telehealth and electronic health record systems.
• Excellent communication, time-management, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently without extensive training or repeated supervision.

This is an independent-contractor position within a growing and well-established practice. The schedule, compensation, and additional terms will be discussed with qualified applicants.
