Golf Maintenance

JOB SUMMARYResponsible for performing a wide variety of general labor tasks, including mowing, raking, pruning, turf repairs, irrigation repairs, drainage construction, landscaping, and seasonal duties.JOB DUTIES TO INCLUDEPerforms general mowing using walk mowing units on all playing surfacesPerforms bunker maintenance – raking, weeding, and edgingUse of string trimmers, back pack blowers, and push mowersAssists with golf course construction projectsCleans the interiors of buildings thoroughly (sweeping floors, cleaning bathrooms, etc.)Performs all seasonal work assignments (e.g. snow removal, salting, etc.)Completes landscaping activities (urban forestry, planting, mowing, raking, chipping, etc.)Performs set-up and tear-down for programs and special eventsMaintains all tools, equipment, machinery, and mechanical systems as necessaryRoutinely inspects clubhouse and landscaping (walkways, parking lots, etc.)Identifies and repairs or reports any failures or hazardsQUALIFICATIONSThe best applicants will be reliable and at least 16 years of age or older and currently enrolled in either high school or college preferred. No prior experience in golf course maintenance is needed but a desire to learn more about golf course maintenance. Work schedules are flexible and ability to perform medium duty work required. Valid IL Driver’s License required. Illinois turf pesticide applicators license a plus.SCHEDULING & PAYThis is a part-time, seasonal hourly (non-exempt) position working Monday through Friday, from 5:00am to 1:00pm, Saturday or Sunday 5:00am – 9:00am and is subject to change with seasonal requirements. Additional availability required for possible overtime, special events and weather-related duties. Target hiring range is $16/hour- $18/hour depending on qualifications and experience.
