Position Details

We are seeking experienced Pediatric Emergency Room Registered Nurses (RNs) for a night shift opportunity. The shifts will be 4x12-hour, running from 19:00 to 07:30. The selected candidates will need to work two out of three specified holiday bundles, including:

Thanksgiving & the day after
Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
New Year's Eve & New Year's Day

Position Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of pediatric experience in an Adult/Pediatric combined Emergency Department or a Pediatric Emergency Department.
ENPC certification is mandatory prior to signing.
No local candidates within a 100-mile radius will be accepted.
COVID vaccination is required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted with the completion of the COVID exemption form.
BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, and ENPC certifications are required.

Work Details

The Pediatric Emergency Room typically operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 during days, nights, and weekends, which may increase during high census periods. Travelers will also be required to float as needed within the Pediatric Emergency Department and occasionally to the Pediatric admission floors. Weekend scheduling will be required based on facility needs.

Facility Overview

This facility is a Level I Trauma Teaching Children's Hospital with a total of 554 staffed beds. The environment offers comprehensive support from various interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.

Unit Information

Daily Census: Approximately 70 patients
Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
Additional Required Skills: Triage, Pediatric Dosage Calculations, Phlebotomy, IV insertion, and EKG interpretation.

Additional Information

No on-call duty required.
Orientation hours will total approximately 24 hours.
Modules related to training will be required and are billable up to 4 hours.
