Department: Children's LearningCenters Salary: 15.14-17.04 Description Assists the lead teacher with the development and implementationof curriculum and classroom instruction at the university's ChildCare Center. Assists the teacher with the planning, implementation andsupervision of the child development program. Develops activities and materials for use in theclassroom. Assumes responsibility for the class in the lead teacher'sabsence; performs as lead teacher when necessary. Participateswith assessment of children's social skills development andintellectual, emotional and physical growth. Maintains children'sclassroom records and portfolios. Communicates daily with children, parents and staff regardingthe learning environment, curriculum development and individualchild's needs. Participates in "Teacher in Training" professional developmentplan. Assists with daily closing duties and Child Care Center eventsas needed. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Requires the ability and knowledge for analysis and interpretationof procedures, policies and practices attainable through specificeducation and/or training programs in a specialty or technicalfield. Advanced vocational or electronic skills or a basicknowledge of a professional field is required. An Associate'sdegree or certification/licensing in a technical specialty programof over 18 months and up to 3 years duration are characteristic ofthis field. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directlyjob-related experience. Additional Job Posting Information Department is willing to accept education in lieu ofexperience.
