Make a direct impact by supporting students with autism in a collaborative, educational environment. Two contract positions are open for dedicated Special Education Teachers to work with Specialized Day Classes—one serving grades 1-3 and another for grades 4-6. Both assignments run full-time (35-37.5 hours per week) through the end of the school year. This role is ideal for educators skilled in working with elementary learners and ready to bring compassion, structure, and expertise to their classrooms.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid and active CTC license—Moderate to Severe or Extensive Support Needs (ESN) authorization required
- Experience working with students with autism, preferably in a self-contained classroom or SDC environment
- Strong classroom management abilities
- Skill in developing and implementing IEPs and individualized instruction plans
- Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff, families, and related service providers
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfort with a fast-paced, diverse school setting
Primary responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, structured instruction tailored to students with autism in either grades 1-3 or 4-6
- Develop, administer, and monitor IEPs to ensure progress and compliance
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate learning styles and individual needs
- Collaborate with fellow educators, paraprofessionals, and specialists to maximize student support
- Engage families and caregivers in students’ daily progress and establish consistent communication
- Maintain thorough records and deliver accurate progress reports
