Senior Vice President - Public Relations

We deliver insights-driven public relations campaigns, policy programs, and initiatives that promote health and wellbeing around the world. As Senior Vice President, you will work closely with our biotechnology specialty practice to develop strategy and oversee execution of client programs supporting corporate communications public relations, social media, and investor communications. You will work shoulder to shoulder with innovators and entrepreneurs who are creating the future of medicine, helping them communicate their stories for investors, pharma partners, physicians, patients and employees. This is a hybrid role out of our San Diego office will report to the Executive Vice President. Candidates in major biotech hubs (San Francisco, Boston), or in Philadelphia or New York, may also be considered. You Will: Client Partnership * Participate in strategy and planning sessions with senior management, shaping stories for priority audiences and identifying channels to distribute those stories through press, social media, or other digital resources

• Provide clients with advice / counsel, external perspective and coaching
• Facilitate client workshops and events, including speaker training sessions,

multi-stakeholder convening initiatives, internal messaging workshops, etc. * Be responsible for budget forecasting, overall team composition, contracts, client reviews, annual planning, issues resolution, etc. * Lead development of staff plans and partner with regional leads in resource and salary planning Business Development & Operations * Guide new business growth through cultivation of new client relationships and exploration of organic business growth * Drive recommendations on areas to explore for new business potential or company growth opportunities

• Execute on RFP responses, new business proposals and presentations
• Drive creative solutions and present new opportunities to improve our

performance and competitive advantage * Show understanding of current issues in domestic and global health, translating knowledge into meaningful guidance/counsel for our teams and clients Leadership & Teamwork * Participate in Senior Leadership Team meetings, initiatives and workstreams to advance company culture and excellence * Provide direct and constructive feedback to leadership team and junior team members/direct reports, leading them in development of fundamental skill sets (writing, research, strategy, logistics, etc.) * Oversee staff engagement and productivity of direct reports; including assessing hiring needs/recommendations, ongoing evaluation of staff climate, advocating for staff development, advising on issues/course correction

and greater agency Effective Communication * Identify gaps in team communications (internal and external) and propose solutions to address

• Continuously motivate and lead large cross-functional teams to excellence
• Deliver all verbal communications with confidence to clients, teams and

external partners You Will Bring: * Bachelor's degree preferably in communications, marketing, business or related health / science field or equivalent experience * 12+ years' communications experience or relevant experience in related field (e.g., marketing, advocacy or health/ science role dealing with public and private sector entities in global and/or domestic health) or relevant expertise in health sector (e.g., biotech, diagnostics, pharma, global public health, etc.) * Expertise in corporate communications for private and public emerging to mid-sized biopharma and diagnostics companies, including milestones announcements, financings, data communications, strategic transactions, and investor communications around private-to-public transition * Experience in clinical trial recruitment, market shaping, FDA approval, launch preparation, product communications, and patient/advocate engagement * Demonstrated track record of winning new business and organically growing existing accounts

• 3+ years of experience managing direct reports
• Superb internal and external communications skills (verbal, written,

listening) * Track record managing resources and budgets for large-scale client engagements

• An entrepreneurial spirit
• A strong attention to detail with mastered ability to manage multiple

This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations.
