CNC Plasma Table Operator / Metal Fabrication Operator

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented CNC Operator to support day-to-day production in our metal fabrication shop. This role is responsible for operating CNC plasma cutting equipment, reading shop drawings, preparing material, and supporting fabrication operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and safe production.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC plasma table and related fabrication equipment
• Load, position, and unload steel, aluminum, and other metal materials
• Read and interpret shop drawings, cut files, and production schedules
• Set up jobs, verify dimensions, and monitor cut quality
• Perform routine machine maintenance and daily cleaning
• Grind, deburr, and prepare parts for fabrication or welding
• Coordinate with shop foreman, welders, and fabrication team to maintain workflow
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality standards
• Maintain organized work area and follow all shop safety procedures
• Assist with inventory handling and material movement as needed

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC plasma tables or similar CNC fabrication equipment preferred
• Ability to read tape measures, shop drawings, and fabrication prints
• Basic computer skills for loading programs and tracking production
• Forklift experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment
• Dependable attendance and team-oriented attitude

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
• Standing, bending, and walking throughout shift
• Ability to work safely around fabrication equipment and moving materials

Preferred Experience

• Metal fabrication or structural steel shop experience
• Familiarity with nesting software and CNC programming
• Experience with grinders, saws, ironworkers, or press brakes
