Details Float pool position covering roughly five Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments across multiple metro campuses with no assigned home unit Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) Patient ratio of 1:6 Cares for a wide variety of PCU/telemetry patients including heart failure, MI, stroke, COPD, PE, bacteremia, cellulitis, hematuria, seizures, and alcohol withdrawal Weekend requirement of 8 shifts per 6-week schedule in a Fri/Sat/Sun combination No on-call responsibilities Uses Epic EMR, experience preferred but not required No block scheduling accommodations available Requirements Active KS or Compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred 1 to 2 years of recent relevant experience required Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and on-unit telemetry monitoring Proficient in IV therapy including central line, PICC line, and port management, plus blood product administration Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management Experience managing renal/GU conditions including continuous bladder irrigation and hemodialysis care Skilled in wound care/wound vac management and isolation precautions Charge RN experience, teaching hospital experience, and Trauma Level I or II experience preferred Additional Information Regular floating required across departments, units, and other metro campuses as needed May be assigned holiday shifts and charge RN duties as needed per unit Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted Maximum RTO of 7 days First-time travelers are welcome to apply Returning employees must meet applicable tenure requirements (typically 18 months tenure with a 3-month break in service, or a 1-year wait for former permanent staff) before being eligible for a new assignment American Traveler Job ID P-749030.
