INFECTION PREVENTIONIST

INFECTION PREVENTIONIST CERTIFIED (RN PREFERRED) Description: JOB SUMMARY: Plans, implements, and evaluates infection prevention and control measures. RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors and investigates known or suspected sources of infections to determine the source and ensure control. Reviews, analyzes, and implements regulations, standards, and guidelines from applicable governmental agencies and professional organizations. Collaborates in developing and delivering educational programs and tools related to infection prevention, control, and epidemiology. Reports infection surveillance, prevention, and control information to local, state, and federal public health authorities in accordance with laws and regulations. Serves as the infection prevention consultant for multiple departments. Qualifications: Education: Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or other health-related field. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (RN) or Medical Microbiology. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Preferred: Valid current Arizona Nursing License or a compact state license, with the ability to obtain Arizona licensure within 30 days if applicable. Certification Required: Certified in Infection Control (CIC). Work Experience: Required: At least three (3) years in Infection Control. Preferred: Five (5) years of related experience in nursing, microbiology, utilization review, or education.
