Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Risk Mitigation Engineer - Onsite position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. As a Senior Risk Mitigation Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, prioritizing, managing, and resolving technology risks across enterprise productivity platforms such as Microsoft 365, Exchange, and SharePoint. This technical role requires a combination of strong risk-management judgment and hands-on engineering knowledge to evaluate controls, define corrective actions, and prevent recurrence. You will serve as a senior technical authority for operational risk decisions, interacting directly with stakeholders across security, compliance, engineering, and architecture teams. Responsibilities: Manage technology risk mitigation engineering across the Productivity Engineering portfolio Perform risk assessments and prioritize remediation activities based on business impact and risk exposure Develop and execute remediation strategies that address root causes and reduce residual risk Evaluate and validate the effectiveness of security, operational, and recovery controls Help lead implementation of engineering solutions that improve security, compliance, and operational resilience Help govern issue management, exception processes, and risk acceptance activities Establish risk monitoring, reporting, metrics, and executive governance frameworks Support audits, regulatory reviews, and control examinations through evidence-based validation Strengthen platform resilience, recovery readiness, and technology lifecycle management Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, engineering, or equivalent practical experience 7+ years of relevant experience in enterprise technology engineering, infrastructure, operations, cybersecurity, or technology risk 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise productivity, collaboration, messaging, or information-protection services Experience with vulnerability management, secure configuration, lifecycle management, patching, change control, incident/problem management, and production validation Experience supporting audits, regulatory examinations, risk committees, and formal issue-management processes Experience managing technology vendors and driving vendor-dependent remediation Demonstrated experience owning technology risks and driving remediation from identification through validated closure Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, evaluating control design, testing operating effectiveness, documenting evidence, and determining residual risk Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and meaningful experience with at least three of the following: Exchange Server, SharePoint Server, Splunk, Email hygiene platforms, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, or Microsoft Purview Ability to interpret logs, alerts, configurations, technical designs, test results, and security findings Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to present complex technical risk to engineering teams and senior leadership Technical Skills: Technology risk assessment, control design validation, vulnerability management, Microsoft 365 engineering, Splunk, remediation architecture, and incident management Desired skills: Accountability and ownership Analytical and systems thinking Sound risk-based judgment Ability to challenge constructively Executive and technical communication Influence across matrixed organizations Collaboration and conflict resolution Precision and evidence-based decision-making Adaptability in changing threat and technology environments Coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing Pay range: $65.90 - $73.90 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
