Public Heath Nutritionist - Temporary

The Public Health Nutritionist provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and nutrition guidance to individuals and families enrolled in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). This position is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone looking to begin a career in public health, nutrition, maternal and child health, or community services. The successful candidate will work with pregnant and postpartum individuals, infants, and children under five to support healthy eating, growth, and feeding practices. We are looking for someone who is compassionate and excited to work directly with families from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

In this role, you will:

• Provide nutrition education and breastfeeding support to WIC participants.
• Help connect families to community resources.
• Complete nutrition assessments and develop follow-up plans.
• Participate in community outreach and nutrition education activities.
• Collaborate with coworkers and community partners to support participant needs.

This position, Public Heath Nutritionist - Temporary (Job Requisition #55081), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's or higher degree in nutrition, nutritional sciences, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or public health nutrition. OR Applicant in the final semester of a bachelor's or higher degree program in nutrition, nutritional sciences, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or public health nutrition. (Graduation from the program must occur prior to start date.)

Preferred Qualifications: Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (R.D./R.D.N).
