About the Role

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll/HR Coordinator to support payroll processing, compliance reporting, and human resources administration for a growing organization in Washington, DC. This position is ideal for someone with payroll experience, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of compliance requirements, including prevailing wage and certified payroll processes.

The Payroll/HR Coordinator will play a key role in supporting weekly payroll operations, employee onboarding and offboarding activities, and HR compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and committed to accuracy and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

• Assist with processing weekly payroll for 180+ employees.
• Verify electronic timecard submissions and ensure payroll records are accurate.
• Support retroactive payroll adjustments and payroll corrections as needed.
• Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, timekeeping, and payroll-related concerns.
• Prepare payroll-related reports, including certified payroll and compliance reporting.
• Assist with unemployment claims, employment verifications, and payroll documentation requests.
• Complete and maintain required payroll and compliance forms accurately and timely.
• Support prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting requirements.

Human Resources Support

• Assist with employee onboarding and separation processes.
• Maintain personnel records and support HR documentation requirements.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Assist with benefits administration and HR reporting functions.
• Provide administrative support for various HR initiatives and projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of payroll experience, including payroll software systems.
• Experience with certified payroll processing strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of prevailing wage regulations, Davis-Bacon requirements, and compliance reporting is a plus.
• Understanding of union and non-union payroll practices preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $35.00 to $40.00 per hour . Pay may vary based on experience, skills, education, and geographic location.
