Ammonia Refrigeration/Boiler Technician

Position Overview Refrigeration/Boiler Technician – Full‑time hourly position in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment. Compensation & Benefits Competitive starting pay $24.65 to $32.55 per hour plus $1.10 per hour shift differential for 2nd or 3rd shift. Demonstrate strong safety leadership and follow safe work practices. Work as part of a team to plan and conduct equipment repairs. Conduct routine audits and equipment inspections. Demonstrate troubleshooting abilities. Maintain open and professional communication with operations. Respond to unplanned or emergency work requests in a timely and effective manner. Follow food safety and good manufacturing practices. Be highly motivated and able to work independently. Qualifications High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience or 4 years of direct industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing experience. Knowledge in at least three of the following areas: RETA Certification, Ammonia Refrigeration, Engine & Boiler systems, Electricity & motor controls, Controls & instrumentation PLC/software & hardware, Pneumatics & Hydraulics, Mechanical systems, Predictive maintenance, Maintenance Planning, Site utilities, System analysis & troubleshooting, Pipefitting & welding, Machining, Metal fabrication. Basic computer skills and ability to work independently. Preference for candidates with certification or degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance or related coursework. Willingness to work all shifts (days, evenings, or overnight), extended hours, and weekends. Work Environment & Physical Demands Plant environment includes wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise can be moderate to loud. Requires occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds and regular lifting up to 50 pounds using a buddy system or lifting devices. Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; good vision for close and distance tasks.
