Medical Support Assistant (Office Automation)

Duties

Perform the full range of receptionist, recordkeeping and miscellaneous clerical duties within the MTF.

Enter, manipulate and/or retrieve information and data from automated systems as appropriate to the area assigned.

Receive patients and visitors as the initial point of contact, in person or telephonically.

Obtain identifying information and determines the nature of the visit or admission.

Ensure eligibility for care, and contact Patient Administration for verification.

Maintain all patients' records, both electronic and paper, according to regulations, ensuring each entry contains proper patient and health care provider identification.

Ensure the patient completes all necessary forms prior to receiving care.

Perform clerical duties inherent to the in-processing (reception/admission), care and out processing (transition/discharge) of patients, families/caregivers and guests.

Respond to emergency calls and notifies emergency medical personnel.
