Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Spindle is partnering with an outstanding school district in Oakland, CA , seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year.
ROLE OVERVIEW
You'll support students with learning disabilities, developmental delays, and behavioral challenges by building and carrying out individualized IEPs. This includes adapting instruction to different learning styles and providing consistent, structured support.
You'll collaborate closely with families, general education teachers, and support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. A variety of teaching strategies, assistive technology, and adaptive tools are available to help students stay engaged and make meaningful progress.
You'll work with a caseload of up to ten students in a K-2 Special Day Class setting with paraprofessional support. This role will last from August 10th, 2026 through May 27th, 2027.
QUALIFICATIONS
California CTC credential with ESN or Mod/Sev Education Specialist certification
Previous experience in a Special Education teaching role
Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs
