JOB SUMMARY

Exciting opportunity to work at Ocean Downs Casino only 10 minutes from the beautiful beaches and boardwalk of Ocean City, MD! Have fun in the sun while pursuing an exciting career in the casino industry. Work with an awesome overnight team while ensuring a good time for our guests. This is a full time, year round position with an excellent compensation package. This includes medical, paid sick time, paid vacation time, paid personal time, holiday pay and 401k options.


The Food Runner/Busser is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of food from the kitchen to guests while supporting overall dining room operations. This role maintains the pace and flow of service, ensures food quality and presentation standards are met, and assists in keeping the dining environment clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times. This position pays $15.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining, and exciting environment where service excellence is paramount
• Serves guests in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner
• Delivers food promptly from the kitchen to guests, ensuring accuracy, presentation, and proper temperature
• Announces menu items upon delivery to guests
• Manages food flow and assists in organizing orders and food trays for timely service
• Communicates effectively between kitchen, servers, and bartenders
• Assists wait staff and bartenders in meeting guests' needs
• Addresses guest service concerns and relays feedback to Food & Beverage Management
• Removes dirty dishes from dining areas and resets tables to established specifications
• Maintains clean, organized, and fully stocked workstations and side stations
• Assists with bar support duties, including restocking ice as needed
• Ensures all work areas meet sanitation standards in accordance with Health Department codes
• Identifies and helps eliminate service obstacles in kitchen and dining operations
• Promotes outstanding guest relations, teamwork, honesty, and trust among staff
• Supports servers and bussers with duties as assigned
• Performs all other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• One (1)-two (2) years of restaurant experience preferred (food running and/or bussing)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with guests, coworkers, and management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
• Customer-focused with strong attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and demonstrated instructions consistently
• Knowledge of menu items and restaurant operations preferred
• Must maintain professional appearance and good hygiene standards
• Ability to build and maintain positive team relationships
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Black non-slip shoes required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Maryland gaming license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods throughout shift
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40-50 pounds repeatedly
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Must be comfortable working in a moderate to loud environment with flashing and bright lights
• Requires continuous movement throughout assigned areas
