Position Summary

Edmik is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on position involves operating CNC machinery, performing basic in-process quality checks, and assisting with shipping and packaging finished products.

The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, willing to learn, and comfortable handling a variety of responsibilities throughout the workday. We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing things correctly, follows instructions, and contributes to an efficient, team-focused shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines according to established work instructions and production requirements.
• Load and unload parts, monitor machining cycles, and maintain consistent production flow.
• Perform basic in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
• Verify part dimensions and quality at designated intervals during production.
• Identify and report dimensional issues, tool wear, machine problems, or nonconforming parts.
• Make basic adjustments when trained and authorized, and communicate issues requiring setup or programming assistance.
• Read and follow work orders, basic blueprints, and manufacturing instructions.
• Count, label, package, and prepare finished parts for shipment.
• Assist with shipping activities, including verifying quantities, preparing packing materials, and organizing outgoing orders.
• Help maintain accurate production counts, inspection records, and shipping documentation.
• Handle finished parts carefully to prevent damage during inspection, packaging, and shipping.
• Work closely with machinists, setup technicians, inspection personnel, and management to meet production and shipping requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow company quality procedures, safety policies, and established shop practices.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operation, manufacturing, or warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and understand manufacturing-related information.
• Willingness to learn basic measuring techniques and perform in-process quality checks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to handle both production and shipping responsibilities.
• Basic math skills, including counting, measuring, and verifying quantities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to safely handle materials and perform the physical duties associated with machine operation and shipping.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC mills or lathes.
• Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and basic inspection equipment.
• Experience reading manufacturing drawings and understanding dimensional tolerances.
• Previous packaging, shipping, or inventory-handling experience.
• Experience working in a precision machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with JobBOSS manufacturing software is a plus, but not required.
