Senior Cost Accounting Analyst

Kforce has a client in Lake Jackson, TX that is seeking a Senior Cost Accounting Analyst to support manufacturing cost control and site accounting. This role will oversee cost-of-sales drivers, capital expenditures, working capital, support accurate and timely financial closes, budgeting/forecasting, and management reporting. Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
• Executing month-end close procedures and journal entries
• Preparing account reconciliations and investigating variances
• Supporting physical inventory observations and ensuring accurate inventory accounting
• Reviewing fixed assets and supporting capitalization/depreciation processes
• Analyzing results, compiling management reports, and delivering ad hoc financial analyses
• Coordinating site estimates/forecasts and supporting the annual budgeting process
• Support the annual standard cost-setting process and maintain standard costing assumptions
• Maintain compliance with company policy and U.S. GAAP; support SOX/internal control activities (documentation, testing, and remediation as needed)
• Ensure audit readiness and support internal/external audit requests, including timely responses and supporting documentation
• Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify cost optimization opportunities, quantify impact, and track productivity initiatives
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting; CMA or CPA certifications preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of related cost accounting experience and experience performing accounting work in a manufacturing company
• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and SOX/internal controls preferred
• Proficiency with an ERP system required; SAP experience preferred
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
