Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse


Hourly Pay Rate: $53.60


Job Description:
Please ensure traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team" where there will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract to take a position with Ochsner Health, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event were to occur. You should not apply for a role at Ochsner Health if you are not comfortable with the above.


Candidates must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed.
Patient Diagnoses: Supports patients for all major surgical services.
Unit Supports: All surgical/procedural populations with exception to patients requiring critical care services.
Special Procedures/Unit Details:

• Regional anesthesia
• ECT
• Nurses care for pre-op, Phase I and Phase II recovery, pediatric and adult populations.
• This department provides pre/post-op care to patients in a total of 34 OR's on 2 floors.
• The 1st floor MHSC has 6 OR's, 2 cysto suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, as well as preps/recovers cases for CT/MRI. This section has a high volume of pediatric patients.
• The 2nd floor surgery setting has 28 OR's and services cases from Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and pulmonary lab.

Candidates should be prepared to care for patients of all ages in both pre-op and Phase I and Phase II recovery.


Special Equipment:

• Hoyer lift
• Bladder scanner
• Accuvein

Preferred Candidate Background:

• PACU or Pre/Post-Op experience.

Patient Ratio: 1:2
Shift Info: Day 3x12-Hour (08:00 - 20:30)
Epic Experience Required
Certifications Needed:

• ACLS
• BCLS
• PALS
