Discover a fulfilling opportunity supporting 7th-grade students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school community near Orland Park, IL. This onsite contract position is ideal for educators passionate about fostering growth and achievement for learners with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

The assignment is designed for an LBS1-certified teacher, providing 32.75 hours per week, starting as soon as possible. The caseload is focused: just 10 students, with five requiring support in ELA and five in Math. These students are integrated with their general education peers for academics, specials, lunch, and recess, making collaboration and co-teaching key components of your day.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Valid Illinois Special Education (LBS1) certification required
• Professional Educator License (PEL) mandatory
• Experience in co-teaching models strongly preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities

• Co-teach ELA and Math to assigned 7th-grade students
• Support students in meeting their reading and math IEP goals
• Implement differentiated instruction in an inclusive setting
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Communicate regularly with families and contribute to IEP meetings
