Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment to keep production running efficiently. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting overall plant operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to reduce unplanned breakdowns Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues such as bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, sensors, control panels, VFDs, and low- to medium-voltage wiring Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals to diagnose problems and plan repairs Safely perform lockout/tagout procedures, follow all safety protocols, and maintain a clean and organized work area Install, adjust, and align new or rebuilt equipment, components, and control devices as needed Document maintenance work performed, parts used, and findings in work orders or maintenance systems Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and improvement ideas with supervisors, operators, and other team members Additional Responsibilities Inspect equipment and perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, and system checks Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hand and power tools Assist with general facility maintenance and repairs as needed Participate in training and cross-training efforts Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills & Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of industrial maintenance or mechanic experience Strong mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical documents Experience using a wide variety of hand and power tools High school diploma or GED required Additional Qualifications High attention to detail and quality workmanship Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting ability Basic math, reading, and reasoning skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to multitask and adjust priorities based on production needs Ability to work independently and as part of a team Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
