Take the next step in your speech-language pathology career by joining a dynamic educational environment serving elementary and middle school students. A contract opportunity is available for a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) to work onsite two days per week with 3rd to 6th graders, providing vital services to support students’ communication and academic growth.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Current ABESPA Alabama SLP certification and/or Alabama SLP DOE certification (must hold one to start; both required in time)
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Previous experience working in school settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and collaborative mindset
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Commitment to evidence-based practices and ongoing professional development
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech-language assessments for eligible students in grades 3-6
- Develop and deliver individualized therapy sessions tailored to students’ needs
- Collect data, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to create supportive learning environments
- Provide input on strategies and resources to support classroom success
- Maintain compliance with state and federal requirements for school-based SLP services
