About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: 2+ years of adult ICU experience required. License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS & ACLS Must-Have: - 2 years of continuous experience in a Medical ICU - Ability to read telemetry strips - Telemetry competency required Description: This is a MICU night position with floating required to medical/surgical units. This role involves caring for a wide range of adult patients. Common diagnoses include substance abuse, severe psychiatric conditions, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day. This facility has a 20-bed medical/surgical intensive care unit. The RN to patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other medical/surgical areas. All patients are part of the population served. The charting system used is electronic medical records.
